BSCN Corrections Policy

BSCN is committed to correcting factual errors promptly and giving readers a clear way to report issues in published coverage.

How to request a correction

Email [email protected] with the subject line Correction Request. Include the article URL, the sentence or claim you believe is inaccurate, supporting evidence, and your contact information in case our editors need more context.

What we review

  • Factual errors, including names, dates, numbers, quotations, token data, company details and regulatory references.
  • Missing context that could materially change a reader's understanding of the story.
  • Broken or incorrect source links, image credits, labels, disclosures or author information.

How corrections are handled

  • Editors review correction requests against primary sources and other reliable evidence.
  • If a correction is warranted, the article is updated as soon as practical.
  • Minor spelling, grammar, formatting or broken-link fixes may be made without a correction note when they do not change the meaning of the story.
  • Material factual changes should be disclosed in the article with a correction, clarification or editor's note.

Clarifications and updates

A clarification may be added when the original wording was accurate but could be misread without additional context. Developing stories may also be updated as new information becomes available, with the publication or updated timestamp reflecting the change where supported by the CMS.

Retractions

If an article is fundamentally flawed, cannot be corrected in place, or should no longer remain published for legal, ethical or safety reasons, BSCN may remove or retract it. When appropriate, the page may include a notice explaining the change.

Response time

BSCN prioritizes correction requests involving serious factual errors, safety issues, legal claims, impersonation, market-sensitive details or potential harm to named individuals or companies. Complex requests may take longer when additional source verification is required.

Related standards

Corrections are part of BSCN's broader editorial standards for accuracy, fairness, attribution and transparency.

Questions about these standards can be sent to [email protected].
